๐ Where Is Greece?
Greece is at the southern tip of the Balkan Peninsula in south-east Europe. It borders Albania, North Macedonia and Bulgaria to the north and Turkey to the north-east. The mainland is surrounded by the Aegean Sea to the east, the Ionian Sea to the west and the Mediterranean to the south, with island groups such as the Cyclades (Santorini, Mykonos, Naxos), the Dodecanese (Rhodes), the Ionian Islands (Corfu) and Crete, the largest island.
Athens is the main gateway, with ferries from Piraeus and Rafina to the islands and summer flights straight to the big islands. Check the distance from your city with our distance calculator.
๐ Best Time to Visit Greece

Peak beach season; hot, busy and expensive.
Warm sea, harvest season and fewer crowds.
