1. Agreement to Terms & Scope

These Terms and Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement between you (whether personally or on behalf of an entity) and AtlasWise concerning your access to and use of https://atlaswise.org and all associated global reference libraries, comparative tools, and interactive maps (the “Site”).

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must immediately cease all access and use of the platform.

2. Intellectual Property Rights & Academic Citation

Unless otherwise indicated, the Site is our proprietary property. All source code, databases, functionality, software, website designs, comparative metrics, cartographic map layers, editorial articles, custom graphics, audio, video, text, and photographs (collectively, the “Content”) are owned or controlled by us and are protected by international copyright and trademark laws.

• Educational & Academic Citation Rights: Students, educators, and academic institutions are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to cite and reference our published datasets for non-commercial educational purposes, provided clear attribution is displayed (“AtlasWise Geographic Reference Library”).
• Commercial Restrictions: You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, mirror databases, or commercially exploit any Content without our prior written consent.

3. User Representations

By accessing or utilizing AtlasWise, you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 18 years of age (or at least 13 with verified parental consent).
• You possess the full legal capacity to enter into these binding Terms.
• You will provide accurate, truthful, and complete information when required.
• You will not use the Site for any unlawful or prohibited purpose.

4. Prohibited Activities & Automated Scraping Restrictions

Users agree not to misuse platform infrastructure or engage in prohibited conduct. Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:

• Deploying automated web scrapers, bots, crawlers, or bulk harvesting tools to extract data tables or map vectors without prior written clearance.
• Attempting to bypass, disable, or interfere with security-related features, firewalls, or rate limiters protecting server architecture.
• Transmitting viruses, malware, or other harmful code, or sending unsolicited commercial email (spam) through site forms.
• Impersonating another person or entity, or interfering with or disrupting the normal operation of the Site or servers.

5. Accuracy Disclaimers for Geographic, Demographic, and Financial Data

While AtlasWise adheres to rigorous verification standards using institutional repositories (e.g., United Nations, World Bank), real-world geopolitical boundaries, demographic statistics, and currency conversion rates fluctuate dynamically. All data is provided “as is” and “as available” for reference and educational purposes only. Currency converters and economic indicators do not constitute formal professional financial or investment advice.

6. User-Generated Content

You may submit feedback, comments, data corrections, or other content (“User Content”) through the Site. By submitting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and transferable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and distribute such content in any media. You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to your User Content.

7. Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by us. We assume zero responsibility or liability for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless AtlasWise and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or connected with your use of the Site or your violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to terminate or suspend your access to the Site at any time, without notice, for any reason, including your breach of these Terms.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal disputes arising hereunder shall be resolved exclusively through designated jurisdiction courts.

13. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Site following modifications constitutes binding acceptance of the new Terms.
