Brunei's national philosophy is Melayu Islam Beraja (Malay Islamic Monarchy), and Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah is one of the world's longest-reigning monarchs. Traditions live on in brassware, silver work and the gold-threaded kain tenunan cloth, and in the water villages of Kampong Ayer.
