For Rio, São Paulo and the south, April to October brings pleasant, drier weather, while December to March is hot summer, beach season and Carnival time. The Pantanal is best in the dry season (July–October) for jaguars, and the Amazon can be visited all year. The north-east coast around Salvador and Fortaleza is sunny most of the year, with the driest months from September to March.
