📍 Where Is Moldova?
Moldova lies in Eastern Europe, wedged between Romania to the west (across the Prut river) and Ukraine on its other three sides. It has no coast: the Black Sea is less than 3 km away at its southern tip. The country is a patchwork of low hills, vineyards and orchards, with the Codri forests in the centre and the Dniester river in the east.
Chișinău is about 3.5 hours by air from London and 1 hour from Bucharest. The overnight train and buses from Iași and Bucharest are popular overland routes. Check distances with our distance calculator.
