Frequently Asked Questions
How do I compare two cities?
Choose one city in each dropdown and click Compare. You will see all 19 stats side by side, which city leads on each, and an overall scoreboard.
Which city is cheaper to live in?
Compare the Cost of Living Index and Average Rent rows. A lower number means the city is cheaper, so the tool marks it as the winner for those stats.
How is the winner decided?
Each stat has a set direction. Higher quality of life, safety and green space win, while lower cost of living, rent and crime win. The full rules appear under “How Winners Are Determined” below every comparison.
Why do some cities show an “estimate” label?
Detailed city-level statistics are not published for every capital. Where they are missing, we use national or regional figures and label them clearly, so you always know how reliable a number is.
Is this city comparison tool free?
Yes. It is completely free, with no sign-up, and you can compare as many pairs of cities as you like. You can also share any comparison by copying the page link.
